First of all...

My story with the quilt

I still remember my first piece that I quilted on a domestic machine, two placemats, which I still use today! A simple meander design, using the foundation technique! I fell in love with it the moment I finished my quilting and never stopped. That was about 12 years ago, and during that time I took several courses here in Brazil with Marcia Baraldi and in the United States with Linda Taylor at the Houston International Festival, Natalia Bonner and Judi Madsen.

And it was through the courses and quilting my own pieces and those of my friends that I got to where I am today. And then three years ago I decided to invest in a longarm machine and that's how Tânia Mogari Quilter was born. I work with the brand Handiquilter, model Simply Sixteen.

It is a great pleasure to have the opportunity to quilt your piece and to be sure that I will provide you with the best service and attention so that I can meet your expectations with something that is of great value to you! For this reason, I would like to provide some important information about the Quilting service before continuing.

How does it work?

To complete the Quilting Service, first fill out the form and send your quilt to me. As soon as I receive the quilt, I will contact you to inform you about the start of the service. After the work is completed, I will send you a payment order and then contact you again to notify you about the dispatch of your quilt.

  • Production Deadline

    The parts are delivered in a first-come, first-served basis, and are controlled by a list. At the moment, the deadline is up to 3 months from the date of arrival of the part. If the customer wishes to do so in advance, I will consider the possibility according to the desired date and an additional cost will be added.

  • Shipping and Delivery

    I live in Londrina, PR and accept orders from any region of Brazil. For local customers, I am available to collect and deliver in person. Shipping costs for me and shipping to the customer are the responsibility of the customer. If you are sending by mail, I suggest you send the item in a plastic bag to avoid any moisture problems.*

  • Payment

    To guarantee the queue for the quilting service, a fee of 10% of the total amount is requested immediately and then the remaining payment is made after the service is completed. I send a payment order that can be made by credit card, deposit, boleto or pix. Once payment is made, the piece is immediately sent to the recipient's address.

*We are not responsible for lost or misplaced orders dispatched and sent to customers. Quilts are sent by Correios via Sedex or Pac and only automatic insurance is included.

Important Information

Design Styles

I work with three styles of Quilting:

E2E (edge-to-edge) - simpler design, faster execution and repeatable throughout the piece.

Custom border and center e2e - outer border is customized and in the center a repetitive design is made.

Custom quilting - more elaborate and detailed design in all parts of the piece, therefore, execution takes longer.

To find out how much the quilting service will cost, simply multiply the length and width and then multiply by the value of the chosen style. For example: for a quilt measuring 1.90m x 1.70m in the edge-to-edge design.

1.90m x 1.70m = 3.23 square meters

3.23m x R$ 90.00 = R$ 290.70

The value of the Quilting service will be R$ 290.70.

Note: The minimum amount charged is R$90.00, regardless of the size of the quilt, that is, if your top is smaller than one square meter, this will be the amount charged.

Blankets

I work with 3 (three) types of blankets:

Poly100GR (resin-free) - ideal for blankets and bedspreads as this blanket makes the piece fluffier and lighter. Composition 100% polyester.

Jade200GR (resin-free) - ideal for bedspreads, blankets, tablecloths, table runners, wall hangings, cushions, placemats. It leaves the piece with a light structure, drape and heavier than Poly100. Composition 50% polyester and 50% viscose.

Ambar220GR (without resin) - has the same function as Jade 200 but is 100% cotton.

If preferred, the client can also provide their own blanket. The blanket must be 10cm larger than the top on each side.

Lines

I use Setta brand embroidery threads on the top of the quilts and polyester on the bobbins. I always use neutral colors that can blend well in the prints on the top and lining as well. If the client prefers the thread to stand out in the quilting, we can combine them without any problems.

Lining

The lining should be 0.10 cm larger than the top on each side, i.e. if the top measures 1.50m x 1.50m, the lining will be 1.70m x 1.70m, 0.20 cm larger because you need to add 0.10 cm on each side. If you prefer, I can provide the lining at an additional cost. I use solid and neutral colored lining, percale, 200 threads.

Finishes

I offer finishing services. Hand-made finishing, traditional ¼-inch bias. Finishing costs are charged per linear meter, that is, the sum of all sides of the piece.

If you send the bias strips cut, please cut them to a width of 2 ¼", as this is the measurement we use for finishing. In terms of length, always be sure to leave a considerable excess of the size of the quilt, ideally 0.50 cm more than the total measurement. For example, if the quilt measures 2.00m x 1.70m, add the sides: 2.00 + 2.00 + 1.70 + 1.70 = 7.40 linear meters, so for the bias strip you will need at least 8.00m (as when we join the strips there is a little loss of footage).

Note: If you do not choose the finish, the piece will be delivered without being trimmed.
